Why this trip.

Four things that set it apart
01

Two capitals connected by water

Tallinn and Helsinki sit 80 km apart across the Gulf of Finland. The morning ferry crossing is the pivot of the trip, two hours on open water that separates the medieval from the modern.

02

Tallinn's Old Town, unhurried

Two full days inside the walls. We walk with a local historian who knows which merchant house doors are unlocked and which bakery still fires a wood oven.

03

Kalamaja and Telliskivi

Tallinn's former harbour district, now a grid of wooden houses, street art, and a repurposed factory complex. A morning walk with a neighbourhood local, coffee at a roastery that grinds to order.

04

Helsinki design and Suomenlinna

A full day in the Design District followed by a morning on the UNESCO sea fortress. Two cities, two temperaments, one compact trip.

Day by day.

5-day itinerary · approx. 38 km

Each day is built around one or two anchor experiences with deliberate slack for free time. Departure timings adjust slightly with daylight and weather.

Arrival and the Old Town at dusk

Arrive at Tallinn airport. A 15-minute transfer to your hotel inside the medieval walls. Evening orientation walk through Town Hall Square, up to Toompea for the rooftop view, and down through the Danish King's Garden. Welcome dinner at a candlelit cellar restaurant on Rataskaevu.

Tallinn's Old Town is one of the best-preserved medieval cities in Northern Europe, and it announces itself immediately. The limestone walls are intact, the cobblestones are original, and the merchant houses lean in overhead exactly as they did five centuries ago. Your hotel sits inside the walls, a few minutes from Town Hall Square. Tonight we walk without agenda, letting the city set its own pace. The rooftop view from Toompea at dusk, when the cruise ships have left and the spires catch the last light, is worth the climb alone.
