These terms govern every trip booked with MB Travel Solutions Inc., a tour operator licensed by the Lithuanian State Department of Tourism (licence [TBC]). They form a binding contract once you accept your written quote and pay the deposit. They are supplemented by the practical details on your itinerary; if the two ever conflict, the itinerary wins.

Booking, deposit and balance
A booking is confirmed once we receive (a) your written acceptance of the quote and (b) the deposit. Until both are received, prices and availability are indicative.
- Deposit: 25% of the total trip price, payable within 7 days of acceptance.
- Balance: payable 60 days before the start date. For bookings made within 60 days of departure, the full price is due immediately.
- Payment: bank transfer in euro, or card via Stripe (we absorb the fee on bookings under €5,000).
- Confirmation: a written confirmation, supplier vouchers and a 24/7 emergency phone number arrive once the balance is settled.
Pricing, taxes, fees
All prices on openbaltics.com and in your quote are in euro and include Lithuanian VAT where applicable. Hotel city tax (€1–€3 per person per night) is included unless your quote says otherwise. Tips for guides and drivers are at your discretion.
Once the deposit is paid, your price is fixed. We will not raise it for currency, fuel or supplier changes — that risk sits with us, not you.
Cancellation by you
Plans change. To cancel, write to your trip designer. Refunds depend on how close to departure the cancellation lands:
- More than 60 days before
- Full refund minus the deposit.
- 60 to 30 days before
- 50% of the total trip price refunded.
- 29 to 15 days before
- 25% of the total trip price refunded.
- 14 days or fewer
- No refund. We will still try to recover any third-party costs that the supplier waives.
Cancellation by us, force majeure, changes
We will only cancel a confirmed trip in circumstances we cannot reasonably control — extreme weather, civil unrest, a public-health emergency, a supplier collapse we could not foresee. In that case we will offer (a) the same trip on a new date, (b) a comparable alternative, or (c) a full refund. We are not liable for incidental costs (flights, visas) booked separately.
Minor changes — a hotel substituted within the same category, a museum closed for restoration — happen occasionally. We will tell you in advance and propose a replacement of equal or higher quality.
Passport, visa and health
You are responsible for holding a valid passport (six months from your return date) and any visa or e-permit needed for entry to Lithuania, Latvia or Estonia. EU/EEA citizens may travel with a national ID card. We will tell you what we know, but the responsibility is yours and it can change without notice.
There are no compulsory vaccinations for Baltic travel. We follow Lithuanian Ministry of Health guidance for any in-trip health requirement and pass it on as soon as we know.
Behaviour on tour
Our guides are empowered to ask any traveller whose behaviour endangers themselves or others to leave the tour. No refund is owed in that case, and onward arrangements are at the traveller's expense. This has happened twice in twelve years; we do not expect it to be relevant to you.
Liability
We accept liability for the proper performance of the trip we have sold you, in line with the EU Package Travel Directive (transposed into Lithuanian law as the Law on Tourism). Our liability is limited to three times the trip price, except in cases of death, personal injury or our deliberate misconduct, where no limit applies. Liability for losses caused by transport providers is governed by the Athens, Montreal and CIV conventions where they apply.
We are not liable for losses caused by independent activities you arrange yourself during free time, or by events that any reasonably careful operator could not have foreseen.
Complaints
If something is wrong while you are on the trip, tell your guide first — most issues can be fixed within an hour. If they cannot, call the 24/7 number on your confirmation. Written complaints should reach us within 30 days of return; we respond within 14 working days.
Unresolved disputes can be referred to the Lithuanian State Consumer Rights Protection Authority (vvtat.lt) or, for EU residents, the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
Governing law and language
This contract is governed by the law of the Republic of Lithuania. Disputes that cannot be settled directly are subject to the courts of Vilnius, without prejudice to your mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence under EU law. The English version of these terms is the binding one; translations are provided for convenience.
