The Baltics,
told slowly.
Day trips, activities, transfers, and full guided tours across Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland and Finland, designed by people who live there, not by an algorithm.
Local, independent, quietly obsessed.
We're three guides who live in the cities we show you. No coaches of forty, no megaphone on a stick, no gift-shop detours. Just slow, well-built days in a corner of Europe we happen to love.

In their own words.
Verified reviews from guests who completed an openBaltics trip in the past 18 months.
“We've booked three Baltic trips through three different operators. Only openBaltics felt like a friend taking us through their own country.”
“Our cruise stop in Tallinn was four hours. They built a four-hour itinerary that we still talk about two years later.”
“The historian on the Soviet-legacy tour was extraordinary. He had been one of the singers in 1988. I cried twice.”
Good to know.
How many days do you need to see the Baltics?
Seven days is the comfortable minimum for the classic Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn route with countryside stops between them. Ten to twelve days lets you slow down and add the Curonian Spit, the Latvian coast, or the Estonian islands. We also run tours in Poland and Finland, which can extend a trip to two or three weeks.
What is the best time of year to visit the Baltics?
May to September is the prime season, with long daylight, mild weather and every site open. June and July bring the famous white nights. September is quieter and golden. Winter is cold and dark but rewards visitors with Christmas markets and snow-covered old towns.
Are these countries safe to visit?
Yes. Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland and Finland are all EU and NATO members with low crime rates and excellent infrastructure. They are consistently ranked among the safer countries in Europe for travellers.
Do you run small-group or private tours?
Both. Our scheduled tours are small-group with a maximum of twelve travellers, and almost every itinerary is also available fully private for your own party, with flexible dates and pace.
How do you travel between countries?
By private vehicle with a single guide-driver who handles every border crossing, so you never change guides or carry luggage between transfers. All our destinations are in the EU Schengen area, so crossings add no delay. The Tallinn to Helsinki leg uses a fast ferry (about two hours).
Do I need to visit all the countries, or can I focus on one?
Either works. Each country stands on its own for a three to five day trip, and we run dedicated itineraries for Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Poland and Finland as well as combined multi-country routes.
Started by two
locals, one shared idea.
In 2024, two local travel professionals started openBaltics. We had spent years inside the region's travel industry, and we were tired of watching the Baltics sold badly by people who do not live here.
Every itinerary you see is planned and run by the two of us, with locals who live in the country you visit. We are proudly small. We do not aggregate.
