Is four days enough for Warsaw?

For the essentials, yes. Warsaw is dense and well-connected. Four days covers the Old Town, POLIN, Praga, and the communist-era landmarks without rushing. We can add a fifth day for Wilanów Palace or a day trip to Łódź.

Is this tour suitable for children?

For older children, yes. POLIN is engaging for ages 12+. The Praga walk and Neon Museum appeal to teenagers. For younger children, we swap the museums for the Copernicus Science Centre and Łazienki park activities.

How does Warsaw compare to Kraków?

They are different cities. Kraków is medieval and compact. Warsaw is modern, spread out, and defined by what happened in 1944. Most visitors to Poland do both, and we connect them with a three-hour train for travellers doing both tours.

WAW (Chopin Airport) is 12 km from the centre. WMI (Modlin) is 40 km out and served mainly by budget carriers. We arrange transfers from either.

Can I combine this with the Kraków tour?

Yes. The Warsaw-Kraków express runs in 2.5 hours. We can build a combined 8- or 9-day itinerary with a train transfer between the two.

The Museum of the History of Polish Jews is one of the finest narrative museums in Europe. We pair it with a walk through Muranów, the district built on the rubble of the ghetto.

Praga, the other bank

The Vistula's right bank survived the war largely intact. Neon signs from the communist era, artist studios in pre-war tenements, and a vodka museum in a former distillery.

The Palace of Culture at sunset

Stalin's gift to Warsaw is still the tallest building in Poland. The 30th-floor viewing terrace at golden hour, looking out over a skyline that did not exist 80 years ago, is the best summary of this city.

Arrival and the reconstructed Old Town

Arrive at WAW. A 30-minute transfer to your hotel near Nowy Świat. Evening walk through the Old Town: Castle Square, the Cathedral, the Barbican. Dinner at a modern Polish restaurant overlooking the Vistula.

Your driver meets you at arrivals. The hotel is on a quiet street between Nowy Świat and the Royal Łazienki park, a ten-minute walk from either. After settling in, we walk north to the Old Town. The reconstruction is meticulous: every cornice, every facade painting was rebuilt from Canaletto's 18th-century views of Warsaw. Our historian explains the choices that were made and the ones that were not. Dinner is at a restaurant that serves new Polish cooking, seasonal and restrained, with a terrace over the river.
