Riga is the largest airport in the Baltics and the airBaltic hub, so most connecting itineraries pass through it. It also has the region's least flattering reputation for taxi pricing, and that reputation comes almost entirely from cars taken without a booking at the terminal door.
A booked transfer removes the decision. We meet you inside arrivals with a name board, the price was fixed when you booked, and the driver takes you to your address whether that is the old town, the Art Nouveau district or straight on to Jūrmala.

Sedan for up to three with cases, van for up to eight. Riga is the most common arrival point for larger groups, so tell us the case count and we size the vehicle properly.
- How far is Riga Airport from the city centre?
- About ten kilometres west, or roughly twenty-five minutes by car. It is the furthest out of the three Baltic capital airports.
- Is the bus from Riga Airport any good?
- Yes, genuinely. Bus 22 runs from outside the terminal to the centre in about thirty minutes for around one and a half euro bought from the kiosk before boarding. If you are travelling light in daylight, take it.
- Why do people warn about Riga airport taxis?
- Because of cars taken without a booking at the terminal door, where the fare is decided on arrival rather than in advance. A pre-booked transfer or a ride-hailing app removes the problem entirely.
- Can you take us straight to Jūrmala instead?
- Yes, and the airport is on the correct side of the city for it, so a direct transfer saves you crossing the centre twice. Tell us on the form and we quote it.
- Is the price per person?
- No. It is the total for the vehicle, covering up to three travelers with luggage in a sedan, including fuel, parking and the driver.
